AIM debuts Internet of Things competition

Case study competition honors individuals and organizations throughout the global AIDC community that are contributing to the faster adoption of new and innovative technologies.

AIM, a leading industry association, has announced the latest update to its annual Case Study Competition for 2016.

In addition to awarding prizes in radio frequency identification (RFID) and automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technology applications, AIM will also present a top prize this year to the case study which promotes the best use of the Internet of Things (IoT).

“This is truly an exciting milestone for AIM and the industry,” said Mary Lou Bosco, chief operating officer of AIM. “As the Internet of Things grows, we are seeing a significant number of new and unique innovations being applied throughout the global marketplace. These technologies and the creative minds behind them are the reason we felt now was time to launch the IoT category as part of the AIM Case Study Competition.”

In 2013, AIM introduced its competition with a goal to honor individuals and organizations throughout the global AIDC community that are contributing to the faster adoption of new and innovative technologies. AIM, a global authority and resource for innovation and technologies in barcode, RFID, RAIN, RTLS, NFC, IoT and mobile enterprise services and solutions, also seeks to engage international industry collaboration while sharing success stories around applications commercially available in the marketplace today. Past recipients have included industry leaders such as CDO Technologies, Datalogic, HID Global, Honeywell and Loftware.

The 2016 AIM Competition is open to any interested parties wishing to submit a nomination for a fully functional installation in three distinct categories: AIDC, IoT, or RFID. Specific details and submission information can be found at the 2016 Case Study Competition on the AIM website.

The submission deadline is Friday, July 29, 2016. Winners in each category will be announced in the last quarter of 2016. Each will receive a benefits package to showcase their winning entry.
