New Diesel Forklifts Elevate Ergonomics and Productivity

Safety and maneuverability upgrades enhance multipurpose lift trucks

Adlam Engineering is a manufacturer of industrial machine components for the mining and general industrial sectors. The company specializes in rebuilding mining equipment, as well as the engineering, design and manufacture of alternative and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts for surface and underground mining. Two new diesel forklifts (Baoli) have increased reliability, productivity and operator comfort.

Christo du Preez, general manager at Adlam Engineering, says the new forklifts have been used for an array of tasks, including materials handling, loading and offloading of stock and customer goods. Du Preez noted the “value for the money” of the range, adding that “for us, they have proved to be the best value forklift in its price class.”

With a 7,700-pound lift capacity, the new forklifts have a turning radius of 8 feet and three mast stages. They are designed to provide high productivity, operator visibility and comfort, with a large and fully suspended cabin to reduce vibration. A special reduced-diameter steering wheel improves maneuverability. Safety and productivity features also include a pedal parking brake, electronic driving direction selector, easily accessible hydraulic levers and a dashboard with multi-function display.

The particular shape of the counterweight increases safety by enhancing rear visibility, while a rear handle with horn activation button supports comfortable reverse driving.

“The performance has been flawless, to be honest,” du Preez says.
