Throughout this week, Siemens (Booth B5011) is showcasing its Sinamics G115D, a compact, powerful drive system that has been created exclusively for horizontal conveyor applications.

Featuring a drive, gearbox and motor all within one unit, the drive system is available in two versions: motor-mounted and wall-mounted. With a durable design, it has a high IP protection class (up to IP66 and UL Type 4X), Sinamics G115D can be used in very harsh environments, as its operating temperatures range from -21℉ to 131℉. It can even be used in deep freezing applications.

Able to be installed and configured effortlessly, the drive system can be fully implemented within a Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) environment, enabling it to easily connect hardware, services and software. It can be connected to Mindsphere, an open Internet of Things (IoT) operating system.

“Due to Sinamics G115D, conveyor drive systems no longer need to be placed in centralized cabinets where they build up heat and require long cable runs,” said Craig Henry, intralogistics business manager of Siemens Industry, Inc. “Now they can place their drive and gearmotor at their exact point of need.”
